Abstract (Document Summary)

Bengals running back Ki-Jana Carter was placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken left wrist during Sunday's game against Tennessee.

Carter, the first overall selection in the 1995 National Football League draft, was injured during the second half of the Bengals' 23- 14 loss when he fell out of bounds and landed awkwardly after catching a pass.

Carter has been plagued by injuries since leaving Penn State following his junior year. He suffered a torn knee ligament during a preseason game as a rookie, then rushed for 264 games and eight touchdowns in 1996, starting four games.
