That Sunday, during his NFL show that's now syndicated by Fox Radio, [Mike Francesa] had a big scoop to announce: He, Mike Francesa, has learned that the NFL, because of its suddenly altered schedule, may reduce its playoff field from 12 teams to eight in order to sustain a 16-game regular season and its Super Bowl schedule.

Several times in recent days, Francesa and [Chris Russo] were able to put their fingers on the root cause of Sept. 11's terrorist attacks - Israel, U.S. support of Israel and, by extension, American Jews. Such an outdated canard was very interesting considering current world events that apparently elude Francesa and Russo:

Muslim fanatics have slaughtered humans in the name of Allah for centuries, long before the existence of Israel and even the United States. Yet, based on the wisdom of Russo and Francesa, only if America submits to murderous blackmail and abandons Israel will terrorism end.
