Mel Stottlemyre knows good pitching when he sees it. And the Yankee pitching coach didn't need to see more than a brief replay on TV and a few Post photographs to be impressed by 12-year-old Danny Almonte.

Stottlemyre, who saw the climatic pitch of the Rolando Paulino All- Star team's 2-0 victory on replay before heading out for batting practice, took a look at six still photographs to break down Almonte's delivery.

One shot in particular captured Stottlemyre's attention. It's a vertical shot of Almonte, on top of his fastball and ready to throw the ball by one of the players from State College, Pa.
