Abstract (Document Summary)

Captain Falcon is the hero of the F-Zero GX racing game, but he has plenty of colorful competition. There's Zoda and his machine, the Death Anchor, and Octoman and his Deep Claw.

Speed is the heart of F-Zero, a futuristic racing game that continues the series whose first title appeared on the Super Nintendo. The others were highly rated, and the game's Gamecube debut appears to have lost none of the series' momentum.

The game's biggest draw is its amazing sense of speed, which forces you to navigate twists and turns that will probably leave you, like me, trailing everyone else the first few go-arounds. Repetition and track memorization are keys to succeed in F-Zero, so if that's a problem for you, you'll be frustrated.
