[Patrick] Ewing was joined by Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Willis Reed, Earl Monroe and Jerry Lucas. The team was voted on by a blue-ribbon panel of media, former players and coaches, and current and former NBA executives. Three former Nets, Julius Erving (Roosevelt High), Rick Barry (Roselle Park, N.J., High) and Nate Archibald (DeWitt Clinton), also were selected. Erving, who was named the NBA's spokesman for the yearlong "NBA at 50" celebration, was one of five players who spoke at the function. The others were Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson and George Mikan.
