Abstract (Document Summary)

"All of a sudden it came running. Its teeth were bared and everyone started running," said Lauren Barkocy, who was scratched and bitten. "Our gym teacher tried to keep it away. The dog grabbed his pants leg and he lost his balance. The dog was jumping over the fence. The dog went right up on the cars. I was trying to stand as still as I could. I was behind a fence. It jumped up and its paw scratched my eye."

[Angelo Noce] said the dog first began running around with a boys' gym class, causing no problems. The dog then ran toward the girls, and many of them ran, Noce said.

The dog was taken to the town animal shelter. Parents of three of the girls filed complaints against the owner. A hearing on the summons for allowing the dog to run loose is set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Third District Court in Huntington.
