Carlos D. Ramirez, the publisher of el diario/La Prensa who helped modernize and bring financial security to the city's largest and oldest daily Spanish-language newspaper, has died of pancreatic cancer. He was 52.
Ramirez died Sunday morning at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, his business partner Peter Davidson said yesterday.
