Stern's Griping Irritates Fox Ever since Howard Stern did those pilots for a proposed late-night series for the Fox TV stations, he has grumped on his WXRK-AM outings about how WNYW / 5 and other Fox outlets failed to schedule them. Fox executives, who have held their tongues until now, are tiring of Stern's outbursts, and, not for direct attribution, say the shows were poorly produced, in poor taste - despite guests Joe Piscopo and Jackie Mason - and unmarketable, meaning ad agencies would not buy commercials on them. "The truth," a top Fox executive said, "is they were boring." Schweitzer Deserting CBS for Y&R
