In choosing wood lawn furniture, you will find that most of the mid-priced pieces and all of the higher-priced pieces are made of hardwoods that can withstand shifts in temperature, and there is no need to move furniture indoors for inclement weather. When buying, look for teak and mahogany, which are durable. Cedar, pine and spruce also are popularly used, although they aren't as strong. If you are concerned about the source of the wood in your furniture, ask. Retailers should welcome your inquiries.
