All three valley hospitals - Desert Regional in Palm Springs, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage and John F. Kennedy Memorial in Indio - set up emergency operations centers, outdoor triage tents and incident command centers as part of the drill. More than 200 people, representing western Coachella Valley cities, schools, businesses, medical providers, service groups and faith-based organizations, met Thursday at the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs to collaborate emergency responses in the event of a ShakeOut-type quake.
