The report, prepared annually by the State Police Uniform Crime Reporting Unit, contained data on the number of reported crimes, including violent crimes such as murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, and nonviolent crimes of burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft. According to the report, the crime rate for Middlesex County was recorded at 19.1 victims for every 1,000 residents, a decrease of about 7 percent compared to the previous year.
