Abstract (Document Summary)

Monday night, Cambridge council set aside a proposal by the Cambridge Montessori School and Coronation Dental Specialty Group to jointly buy a seven-acre industrial site bounded by Dunbar Road, Conestoga Boulevard and the unbuilt portion of Can-Amera Parkway.

"I totally disagree with this decision," said a visibly frustrated Coun. Ben Tucci. "I totally support the idea of a medical clinic, but you guys are being short sighted. These people have invested a lot of time, money and their health in this project. They have done everything we have asked them to do and now you're turning them down. This is not what I was elected for."

[Terry Carter] believes over time the medical office will be home to a pharmacy, dental services, chiropractors, physiotherapists and other medical disciplines. If there is no contamination on the site, the new clinic could be completed within a year. If contaminants are found, work would be slowed and the clinic would be ready within two years.
