Nine of the 29 Peel Regional Police graduates sworn in during a ceremony Wednesday call Brampton home, and 15 of the grads have been assigned to one of Brampton's two divisions. "Every officer is a leader," Peel Regional Police Chief Jennifer Evans told the graduating group of brand new recruits. Senior officers, family and friends gathered for the swearing-in ceremony at Mississauga's Emil V. Kolb Centre Wednesday afternoon. All of the new recruits have varying backgrounds, work and life experience, and have completed a total of 20 weeks of training at the Ontario Police College and through the Peel Regional Police Training Bureau. They will be assigned to coach officers at divisions in Brampton and Mississauga for their final phase of training....
