Swim instructor jailed for sex attacks

A former owner and instructor of an elite and popular Mississauga swimming school for youngsters, was sentenced to six years in jail yesterday for sexually assaulting children and recording the crime on videotape. John Michael Rolph, 41, owner of Buckler Aquatics on Dixie Rd., pleaded guilty last fall to sexually assaulting a teen, the sexual interference of a 13-month-old baby, and making and distributing child pornography. Founded by swimming instructor Jack Buckler in 1968, Buckler Aquatics has specialized in Red Cross swimming and water safety programs for both children and adults. In addition, the private aquatic organization also offers programs in synchronized swimming, as well as a special-needs program for the physically and mentally challenged.
