Paul Cadieux, from Adjala-Tosorontio, is now moving forward to get people to nominate local trees as heritage trees. Under the auspices of the Ontario Tree Guardian's Alliance (OTGA) -- a group of 20 people interested in trees -- Cadieux said he hopes local people will take to the idea with the same energy they did the Great Community Tree Hunt. Heritage trees are individual or groups of trees that have been designated as significant on the basis of their importance in provincial or regional history, according to the OTGA.
