Brampton, Ont.
Nine of the 29 Peel Regional Police graduates sworn in during a ceremony Wednesday call Brampton home, and 15 of the grads have been assigned to one of Brampton's two divisions. "Every officer is a leader," Peel Regional Police Chief Jennifer Evans told the graduating group of brand new recruits. Senior officers, family and friends gathered for the swearing-in ceremony at Mississauga's Emil V. Kolb Centre Wednesday afternoon. All of the new recruits have varying backgrounds, work and life experience, and have completed a total of 20 weeks of training at the Ontario Police College and through the Peel Regional Police Training Bureau.
