VAUGHAN EDITORIAL: Where's the respect, Mr. Mayor?
Vaughan Citizen
-
Vaughan, Ont.
We're not too excited about the modest tax increase that's being proposed for next year by city council, which comes in at just under 4 per cent. After all, our local government needs money to pay for services and run a variety of facilities such as community centres and libraries and the only way it can do that is through taxes. Vaughan is still in a period of growth and development and along with our increasing population, pegged at more than 300,000, comes the need for servicing new developments and replacing infrastructure, among other things.
