[SECOND Edition]
Morning Call
-
Allentown, Pa.
Michael G. Fitzpatrick, a 31-year-old lawyer from Middletown Township and the top pick of Republican party leaders, was appointed a Bucks County commissioner yesterday, replacing Mark S. Schweiker. Fitzpatrick was in Harrisburg for the inauguration of Schweiker and Gov. Tom Ridge and could not be reached for comment. On Thursday, 80 of 81 GOP executive committee members voted to recommend Fitzpatrick for the post. Smithson and [Charles H. Martin] were also recommended but by fewer votes.
