2 MORE CANDIDATES INTEND TO SEEK 6TH DISTRICT BIDS
[FIFTH Edition]
Morning Call
-
Allentown, Pa.
Berks County Republican Commissioner Glenn B. Reber has announced he will run for the 6th District seat, and it is expected Schuylkill County's Democratic sheriff, Timothy Holden, will formally announce his candidacy today. Reber, 40, of Spring Township, said the only thing that might prevent him from running will be signatures. If he can muster the minimum 1,000 signatures needed by tomorrow, Reber said, he is in the race. Reber joins Berks Republicans James P. Troutman, county clerk of courts who declared his candidacy before [Michael O'Pake] pulled out, and state Rep. James Gallen, R-128th, who at 64 years old had announced his plan to retire but jumped into the fray for [Gus Yatron]'s congressional seat after O'Pake announced he wouldn't run.
