A former standout wrestler at White Plains High School who was working as a personal trainer and studying to become a paramedic, Rios remained in critical condition for weeks. A month after the hit-and-run, shortly after police charged Christin Ewing in the incident, Rios was transferred to Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains for weeks of physical, occupational and speech therapy.
