Abstract (Document Summary)

"I was on Venice Beach, and I just went numb," said [Gazzo], 34, who usually performs in the central stage area of the Third Street Promenade. "I was in the middle of my cups-and-balls routine and I had to sit down. I think the people knew that something was wrong. Fortunately, there was a guy in the audience who was an M.D., and he drove me to Cedars-Sinai."

Gazzo, whose full name is Gazzo Macee, moved from Boston to West Hollywood in January, and has been performing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at the Third Street Promenade and on weekend days at Universal CityWalk. He has been performing street magic since he was a teen-ager.
