Abstract (Document Summary)

SAN ANTONIO (Tex.) Jan. 28.--Walter Hagen, American holder of the British open golf championship, added the Texas open title to his list of wins here today when Bill Nehlhorn, Shreveport, La., missed a foot and a half putt on the last green which, had he made it, would have meant another tie for the $1500 prize. At the end of the 72 holes of match yesterday, the two golfers had 279 strokes each, and an 18-hole match had to be played off to decide the winner today. The match was witnessed by approximately 10,000 spectators.
