"(On Wednesday) at approximately 6 p.m., numerous multi-jurisdictional teams of law enforcement officers led by the Lancaster police department fanned out across the city of Lancaster and arrested over 30 individuals that we allege are responsible for the sale and distribution of dangerous drugs, especially heroin," said Lancaster police chief Dave Bailey on Thursday. About 30 officers, who included members of the Fairfield-Hocking Major Crimes Unit, Fairfield County Sheriff's deputies, Lancaster police officers, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, Ohio Highway Patrol and the Major Crime Unit's latest addition, Brasco, a drug-sniffing dog, fanned out in multi-member teams to make the arrests Wednesday night.
