Abstract (Document Summary)

Last week Israeli officials declared they would consider easing up the restricitions imposed on the Palestinians if the violence comes to a halt. However, last night Palestinians fired four mortar shells at the Gush Katif communities of Nezer Hazani and Katif. No one was injured by the mortars, and soldiers and officials from the communities searched the area to determine where they fell.

He also condemned Israel's entry into PA-controlled Rafah on Saturday in response to the Palestinian attacks perpetrated from the outskirts of the town directed at nearby IDF posts and Israeli communities. IDF tanks, bulldozers, and troops entered the outskirts of the city and destroyed a number of deserted buildings used by the Palestinians to perpetrate their attacks.

Late yesterday afternoon, shots were fired at the Avraham Avinu neighborhood in Hebron from the Abu Sneneh neighborhood. Shortly afterward Palestinians in Hareth a- Sheikh shot at soldiers on patrol in the Shallalah streets.
