Abstract (Document Summary)

Israel's response to Palestinian attacks on Jewish communities on both sides of the Green Line has not been sufficient, Internal Security Minister [Uzi Landau] said in an interview with The Jerusalem Post yesterday.

Palestinians fired a mortar shell at the Gush Katif community of Atzmona yesterday, which landed near the Talmud Torah yeshiva in the community. No one was injured but the building was damaged. Later last night, three mortar shells landed near the Erez crossing, causing no damage. One of the shells landed near the border fence of Nizanit.

While he condemned the vigilante actions of the Jews who allegedly blew up a Palestinian-owned shop in Hebron after the Pass killing, Landau expressed sympathy for the embattled Jewish community of the city.
