1/2 cup white flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 cup instant oatmeal 1 cup buttermilk 1 egg, beaten 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup oil 3/4 cup raisins In a bowl, mix flours, baking powder, salt and baking soda. In another bowl, mix oatmeal and buttermilk and set aside for 5 minutes. Add the egg, sugar and oil to the oatmeal mixture. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon till blended. Mix in the raisins.

1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1 cup whole-wheat flour 1 cup white flour 100 gr. butter or margarine, melted 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 large or two small bananas, mashed with a fork 3/4 cup buttermilk In a large bowl, mix sugar, baking powder, baking soda and both flours. In a smaller bowl, or the bowl of an electric mixer, beat together cooled melted margarine, eggs, vanilla, mashed banana and buttermilk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon till blended.
