According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are about 1,300 cities in the U.S. with populations of 25,000 or more. Something happens, or doesn't happen, between birth and holding up a convenience store, joining a gang, breaking into your home or pulling a gun and shooting someone, that leads people to do such things.
