Petito and his parents have hit plenty of roadblocks on their way to establishing Neighborhood Pride. Since their initial planned opening date in fall 2010, they have cleaned out 10 40-foot garbage containers' worth of refuse left behind by the former tenants of the Hancock Street store, painted over graffiti, swept up glass from windows broken by vandals, and lost the support of a local bank, which denied their loan application.
