Many info pros believe that it is essential to have a polished elevator pitch ready -- that speech you would give were you in an elevator with someone who had funding for your project and you had only the short elevator ride to get his or her attention and support. Part of the art of a good elevator pitch is describing what you do in a way that the other person finds valuable. If you find it challenging to articulate the value you bring to your organization, in ways that other people hear and appreciate, look at what has changed in your organization or for your client after you became involved.
