Abstract (Document Summary)

When Rolf Janke started at SAGE Publications in the late 1990s, he was looking forward to being VP of the books group, publishing monographs, textbooks, and professional texts. They were known as a monograph publisher, says Janke, adding that he arrived at a time when SAGE was moving away from monographs. After a bit of soul-searching and cerebral contemplation, Janke decided to venture in a totally new direction and reinvent himself.
