Over the years, as electronic services became more available and email became more ubiquitous, legislation tracking became a bit easier. As the years progressed and services such as RSS entered the fray, librarians found that they were performing this once time-consuming task less often. GovTrack, which was one of the first on the market, appeared amid fanfare in September 2004. GovTrack has all the features that librarians need to track legislation, including searching by bill number, committee, keyword search, subject, voting record, or legislator.
