Bill Hannay (an attorney at Shiff Hardin) presented an update on several legal issues relating to the information industry: * "The right to be forgotten" rule in Europe requires Google to take down negative information upon request. Since 2014, it has received about 500,000 requests to remove information and has complied with 43% of them. When the trial court ruled against the publishers, social advocates hailed the verdict, saying the court correctly upheld the supremacy of the social good over private property.
