Abstract (Document Summary)

An extremely common and often-cited struggle for any information organization is being able to identify and maintain a coherent core mission or purpose for existing within its respective institutions. As a result of the current realities facing information professionals in corporate environments, there is a certain recognition of the novus ordo seclorum that must be accepted before they are able to undertake any effort in solidifying and strengthening their positions in their respective institutions. One key method that can help information professionals solidify their positions within an organization is to expand their roles to include a compliance capacity.
