When Roger Brisson began building a next-generation information infrastructure as head of metadata services at Boston University, he had one goal: to beat Google. Now, as the new strategy director for Ex Libris Europe, Brisson is excited to help European libraries work toward this goal. In his new position, Brisson will work closely with libraries to appropriately respond to the opportunities and challenges they are facing. According to Brisson, the dynamic tension between the system management needs shared among almost all libraries and the customized services made possible by the Ex Libris Alma service presents the company with an exciting challenge as it rolls out a next-generation library system.
