Hack the Library was the theme of the 29th annual Computers in Libraries conference, held Apr 7, 2014-Apr 9, 2014, in Washington, DC, but it was not meant to encourage breaking into library databases or stealing library patron information. No, the idea behind the theme was creative, ingenious, and novel approaches to transforming library services and processes. This compelling theme drew some 2,000 people to five tracks of program sessions spread over 3 days. In her introduction to the conference, program director Jane Dysart included a remembrance of two information professionals who were instrumental to the success of both Computers in Libraries and its sister conference, Internet Librarian.
