Social media users with important messages to share can do better than relying on just those folks in their friends lists. Anyone with an idea can now spread the word with Thunderclap, a crowdsourced message delivery platform. By creating a Thunderclap campaign, an interested broadcaster can send out a tweet-sized message at a specific time and date. Thunderclap's founder, David Cascino, had the idea for his new platform while he was out walking in the park. He saw the Occupy Wall Street protestors who filled Zuccotti Park communicating by way of a human megaphone, says Chelsea Orcutt, head of outreach for Thunderclap.
