People are all a little privacy-conscious these days, according to results of the recent Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project report, "Anonymity, Privacy, and Security Online." Although only 18% of Americans say they use the Internet in a way that hides their identities, the Pew report finds 86% of respondents have used at least one strategy to deter any attempts to track them. The report also indicates that American concerns over the state of online privacy are not the result of overactive imaginations.
