At the American Library Association's Annual Conference & Exhibition this summer, two librarians spoke at a session titled Ebook Data Evaluation Through the Eyes of an Academic Librarian and a Public Librarian: A Tale of Two Libraries. Ellen Safley, PhD and director and dean of libraries at the University of Texas-Dallas Libraries (UT Dallas), discussed how she meets the needs of UT Dallas' 22,000 students. Safley stressed the importance of looking at statistics such as what titles in the ebook collection were and were not used so that she can make decisions about what to buy next.
