Named for the guy who owned the kitchen table in the late 1950s, Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine officially launches the football season every July in Texas, with reports and predictions all the way from the Cowboys and Texans to the tiniest private high schools. What started out as the most-anticipated magazine in the state has blossomed into a multimedia empire, based around TexasFootball.com. TexasFootball.com manages to make the entire recruiting business seem a little less slimy than it really is, but the Web site still devotes lots of digital real estate to it. And it sees an obligation to cater to Cowboys fans who still are compelled to watch America's (Ex) Team every Sunday, often just to witness the clever and not-so-clever ways the Cowboys find to blow games they should win.
