Attendees didn't have to look at the actual facts and figures to know that the numbers for the 137th ALA Annual Conference were up this year over last. The foot traffic in Chicago's McCormick Place convention center (North America's largest convention center) spoke for itself in well-attended vendor booths, many standing-room-only sessions, and the constant stream of people entering and exiting the convention center. Bigger numbers (26,362 total in 2013 compared to 20,134 in 2012), more buzz, and an all-star roster of keynoters kept attendees engaged with the theme of Transforming Our Libraries, Ourselves.
