Since open access (OA) is having an impact on virtually every part of the publishing business, according to Dave Ross, the executive publisher of OA at SAGE, new processes and systems need to be implemented. And this is where Ross is focusing his attention. Ross, who has been at SAGE for more than 10 years, has held a number of different titles including senior commissioning editor/publisher, business development manager, and head of commercial sales. Before joining SAGE, Ross was with Kluwer Academic Publishers, Thomson Scientific and Professional (a part of Chapman & Hall, which was sold numerous times), and Hodder Arnold. He was also a founding board member of the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association.
