In a phrase that could have been uttered by Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story's space ranger hero, The British Library (BL) reports that it now has the right to capture the digital universe - well, almost. Following the recent enactment of parliamentary legislation -- the Legal Deposit Libraries (Non-Print Works) Regulations 2013 -- the BL is in the early stages of downloading and storing content from more than 4 million Web sites that have .uk domain tags and some that don't. The BL and five other partners (the national libraries of Wales and Scotland, Trinity College Dublin, the Bodleian Libraries of Oxford, and Cambridge University Library) are collaborating on the project.
