There are two general classes of TLDs: generic TLDs (gTLD) and country code TLDs (ccTLD). The ccTLDs are assigned to both countries and regions. For example, the URL www.aaa.ug indicates a domain registered in Uganda, while www.bbb.eu signifies European domains. The World Wide Web has undergone yet another shift to the array of top-level domain (TLD) names available for use. TLDs are the set of letters or codes found to the right of the final dot of a URL such as dot-com or dot-gov.
