Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funerals and Cremations, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Prior to opening his practice in Pawley's Island, S.C., he was appointed by Senator Strom Thurmond to serve as attorney for the U.S. Marshal's Office in Washington, D.C. Surviving are his wife, Janice Schoepf Bennett of Georgetown, S.C.; a daughter, Elizabeth Glenn Bennett of Georgetown, S.C.; a sister, Mary Glenn Stroman of North Litchfield Beach, S.C.; two brothers, William B. Bennett of Awendaw, S.C., and David N. Bennett of Perrysburg, Ohio; and three nephews, Graham Gault of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Patrick Gault of Sullivans Island, S.C., and Glenn Bennett Gault of Mount Pleasant, S.C.
