Abstract (Document Summary)
Groups pushing seven different ballot initiatives for the Nov. 6 election -- from blocking a right-to-work movement and a new public bridge to Canada to vastly expanding casinos in the state -- have collectively raised $21.7 million and spent another $14.1 million, according to reports filed Wednesday with the Michigan Secretary of State. Since most of the groups' initiatives are not officially approved for the ballot, spending by both them and their opponents is just starting to gear up, experts say.
