After her son's diagnosis, Brown looked for information about autism, a developmental disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate and interact with others. "Through the outreach she's done - classes and meetings with families, training seminars and support groups - I can't imagine the number of people she's impacted - in the thousands," Manning-Courtney says.
