The church was also known for its impressive music program, which included a paid professional choir that attracted some of the city's most beautiful voices, including Cincinnati opera singers Maria Ventura and Barbara Daniels as well as Kathleen Battle, the soprano from Portsmouth and Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music graduate who has sung all over the world, including performances for both Pope John Paul II in 1985 and Pope Benedict XVI at the White House in 2008. When the church closed it gave money and its contents to more than a dozen programs and churches, including Bethany House, a battered women's shelter and Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen.
