Rick and Margaret Simpson Eastgate Tax cut bill good government policy The tax-cut bill signed last week has had a flurry of criticism from the Democrat left because it didn't go far enough in increasing and accelerating the child tax-credit, a feature by which the government refunds money to people who paid no taxes in the first place. In defending the bill, Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said the White House believes that income tax relief should be focused on people who pay income taxes.
