Murdock is one of 10 SROs who splits his work week at two elementary schools, but that could change if county officials approve a request from Sheriff Robert Arnold to add a full-time officer to each elementary school operated by Rutherford County. Sheriff Arnold said it would cost roughly $1.2 million (about two cents on the property tax rate) to add 11 SROs, putting one into each of the county's 23 elementary schools full-time.
