Abstract (Document Summary)
Retiree benefits are increasingly on the chopping block at companies across the nation. Since 1993, the share of major employers that offer medical coverage to retirees under age 65 has fallen from 46 percent to 24 percent, according to human resources consulting company Mercer. In response to questions about the Survivor Income Benefit, Kodak in a statement said it was not "going to get into specifically detailing every aspect of it or individual cases." Since filing for Chapter 11 protection in January, Kodak has made a number of painful cuts to stay afloat.
